This is a site initially created for posts about the Grateful Dead’s 1972 European tour but which may develop into something else. It welcomes all except those with a combination of irrational prejudice and an inability to keep their traps shut (Daily Mail readers, for example).
As it grew from the Readers Recommend community site, The Spill, I chose this site’s title from this line from Robert Hunter’s lyrics to Saint Stephen:
One man gathers what another man spills
I won’t be so indelicate as to enquire about the circumstances leading to your divorce from The ‘Spill but look forward to many moments of sheer happiness as your focus on the best of Dead things … and what better to start us off than the Frankfurt gig? I wasn’t aware of either of the dates of the two shocking events you record and will listen to this gig with fresh ears …. many thanks for bringing us here.
Oh dear, i hope i didn’t shoot my trap off thoughtlessly on your posts…i can do that sometimes. I’m tired a lot lately. It is nice to see all of the posts in the series collected for easy chronological perusing in one spot, now i may be able to get to them, piecemeal anyway.
Being perpetually exhausted is not an acceptable excuse though, so profuse apologies…
No, no, no, amy, you have nothing to apologise for. My detour has nothing whatsoever to do with you or anyone else who’s made a comment on (as opposed to about) my Dead posts.
You’re very welcome here.
I’m very glad to see this all in one place too. Whatever irritations (hopefully soon healed) have caused you to set up this site I am happy it’s all here. Just be very gentle with me – I am still a babe as far as the Dead go.
Hi Chris
I’ve added a link from my blog. Who knows? Maybe we’ll get a Dead / Flamenco crossover link going!!
Ooh, ta! Were I more up to speed with WordPress, I’d return the compliment.
Chris, I will follow you on here and add a link to your blog on mine. I hope that things are OK and that there is no ill-feeling anywhere.
@Maki, Carole & anyone else interested in being associated with this project: I seem to have figured out how to put links on this site. Please give me your site’s address.
Carole: no ill-feeling here. There may be some somewhere in the rest of the world…
